The Call of the Wild.
Come and take me where my heart lies
Cut the chains and set me free
Make the moors and bogs my homeland
Godforsaken though they be.
Let me free to climb the mountains
Where the air is fresh and clear
Let me soar through peaceful valleys
Where the traveller knows no fear.
Let me wander through the pastures
Where the silent cattle stare
Where the earth is soft as velvet
And strange perfumes fill the air.
When darkness steals upon me
I will pick myself a bed
Where I’ll nestle close to nature
With the sky above my head.
I’ll dream of heather blossoms
Of wild flowers and mountain streams
And I’ll re-live all my wanderings
Made real within my dreams.
